My Philosophy and Coaching Techniques Produce Results
I have played and been around the game of baseball my entire life. With over 25 years of private and team pitching and hitting instruction, I have come to understand all different types of athletes.
My mission statement to each student is to provide a great atmosphere to learn and to have fun. Taking each individual’s talents and grooming them to practice correct techniques, providing what they need to know, both mentally and physically.
Helping them understand themselves, their personality and what they must do to reach the next level is integral to my coaching philosophy. I help them to recognize the importance of regular practice and establishing a sense of commitment to their goals. You must, in most cases learn technique early. If bad habits set in, it can be tough to correct later on.
The player without motivation or structure in their training will not make it. They must learn to absorb information and work towards the feeling of executing a good performance.
Learning pitching and hitting skills is a process. This process is both physical and mental, requiring the understanding that it takes hard work to be good. The lack of repetition (practice) and maturity can affect the progress of the player. Players that are coachable through attention and commitment will learn skills to become a better player and have a better chance to perform.
Achieving success in sports at any level is not easy, the window closes quickly. Learn early and keep that window open as long as you can. Together we can make it happen.

What They Are Saying About My Hitting and Pitching Instruction
I started going to Jeff the winter of my junior year in high school. I was very rough and needed a lot of work, but Jeff saw the potential in me. He pushed me everyday to be my very best. When I first started coming to Jeff I was an average pitcher and topped out at 82-83, and just after 5 months of lessons with Jeff I was getting clocked at 86-88 and topped out at 90. It wasn’t just speed that I gained, with Jeff I became a pitcher instead of a thrower of the ball. My accuracy improved dramatically, and was able to hit whatever spot I wanted to. Without Jeff I would not be playing Division 1 baseball, and that is the truth.
Nate Thomas – RHP Northern Illinois University
Coach Jeff doesn’t only help with the baseball side of the game, but also with the mental part. He will teach you everything you need to know In either hitting or pitching and give you drills to do when you aren’t in the lesson. The way he goes about the game is great and he will explain to you what you have to go through to make it far, as he was drafted. Jeff is a great instructor and has great upsides.
Trenton Stoner – Going to IUPFW to play Baseball
My name is Jordan Sailors and I am a 2012 graduate from South Bend Riley. I have been working with Jeff for about 3 years and I can’t thank him enough for the hours we’ve spent training on and off seasons. Jeff has a way of teaching the game that allows kids to really improve their skills and take their game to the next level. He is very hands on and teaches important fundamentals that will improve your swing, batting average, and most importantly, an overall understanding of the game. I give a lot of credit to Jeff for helping me become a college prospect. I can’t thank you enough Jeff!
Jordan Sailors – Riley High School Athlete
During the offseason, I hit with (former Detroit Tigers player) Jeff Jackowiak at Bring The Heat in Niles. I’ve been working with him for the past couple of years, so he knows my swing pretty well now. He really taught me a lot. He helped me with my mechanics, so he desrves a lot of the credit (for my success)
Andrew Price – Marion High School Athlete
Our family has been working with Jeff since 2002. Jeff has dedicated his life to baseball and is a great instructor of hitting and pitching. He brings years of knowledge and experience to each lesson, not only teaching the mechanics of baseball, but also stressing the mental approach to the game. If you are looking for a baseball instructor for your son or daughter, you can do no better then to team up with Jeff Jackowiak.
Aaron Zeese – Former St Joseph High School Athlete
Jeff Jackowiak taught me in hitting for six years. I became an all conference player and played varsity as a freshman. Jeff’s knowledge and his passion to teach propelled me to another level. I will sign with Dayton University and will attend in 2011.
Kyle Zappia – Former St Joseph High School Athlete
I have been a pitching student of Jeff’s for six years. His instruction has helped me play at a higher level. I believe his experience pitching professionally has given me information that will help me at college. I signed with North Carolina Ashville as a pitcher. Thank you Jeff!
Taylor Krugh – Former Marion High School Athlete
Jeff Jackowiak worked with me a short time in pitching. Because of his teaching I became an even better pitcher. He taught me to think better and understand the pitching game. His professionalism toward his students made each lesson a learning and fun experience. I signed with Ball State University
